After a weekend or a whole week living transformative experiences with wonderful people who share your inner search and surely in a dreamingly environment, it’s time to return to reality or as I usually call it sympathetically: to the Matrix. SO, how can we integrate what we have learnt in the reteat?
Yes, sometimes the “come back” can be intense. The retreat should serve as a catalyst experience to increase your well-being. After this experience, you should feel a clearer mind, greater focus and, often, it gives you the courage to make decisions and changes in your life.
For this reason, it is important in order to feel its benefits, that you make the most of that wave of energy built up during a retreat.
Tips for a healthy post-retreat experience
I will share the 3 tips I offer during my retreats to the participants for them to enjoy of the best post-retreat.
Start new healthy habits
Many retreats offer workshops and courses on a defined theme that is surely why you have signed up. Try to choose, amongst the techniques learned during the retreat, at least one that you think you can integrate into your daily routine and that will enhance that area of your life where you currently need improving.
Remember that “Practice makes the master”
Avoid overloading yourself by trying to introduce a lot of different practices and techniques. You may otherwise be discouraged to see that you do not have enough time to incorporate them all.
Union means strength, keep in touch with your tribe
During the days of the retreat, nutritious and stimulating bonds are born: we encourage each other and the collective energy strengthens us.
But as you go back home, you may feel yourself falling again into the usual routine. This, sometimes, may discourage you from continuing with the practices.
After my retreats, we have private online conversation groups where participants can continue working with guidelines offered during the retreat. This helps sustaining the energy and the spirit of practice until one can sustain themselves.
That is why I suggest you stay in touch with your retreat group for a few weeks. This tends to encourage yourself and others to move forward together beyond the distance.
Live the transformation in your day to day
Again, take advantage of the wave of energy that arises in a retreat. Be aware of how the experience lived can be applied into your daily life.
If you were looking for a change, observe yourself, say Namaste to the old version of you and welcome this new cycle.
Retreats are opportunities that help you make an internal update. They fulfil their goal when you can see yourself in a renewed and healthy way in all the areas of your life.
