More Serra Rica

Beautiful old Catalan farmhouse located on a mound, surrounded by deciduous forests, basically oak, elm and ash trees.

The house consists of a large building and other adjacent buildings. The main house has its origins in the s. XI and that, like all so old buildings, has been enlarged and modified throughout its history. The main of the extensions was carried out at the beginning of the s. XVII with the construction of a masovería and an important extension of the height and rooms of the house. Between the masovería and the main house there was a very original and strange alley that gives the house a peculiar personality.

Of the adjacent constructions, we highlight the old barns of the house, extended and renovated in the middle of the s. XIX and in which, now, we have built three independent rural lodgings. We have restored these old barns with sensitivity towards those who built them, respecting the structure and materials as much as possible, thinking about who will occupy them, taking care of all the details to make them a comfortable stay and that they can remember with satisfaction.

The result can be seen to have been magnificent, achieving very cozy and pleasant spaces combining stone and wood, antiquity and modernity, beauty and comfort.

Due to its location at 800 m. Of altitude, it enjoys an excellent climate typical of the medium mountain, not very hot in summer and away from the insistent fogs of the plain (Plana de Vic), in winter it enjoys many bright and sunny days.
